You might have heard about 2050 here and there, there were talks in one of the 434 groups you are a member of in WeChat, your friends might have told you they are attending, or you might have caught a glimpse of it in the media.
Still, you might not know what 2050 really is.

But for those of you who just want a quick recap; 2050 is an event created by volunteers for volunteers. “Tech Brings youth Together” is the official slogan of this year, and where better to have 2050 than in Hangzhou, one of China’s most exciting cities for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The future belongs to the youth, which is clear to see at this year’s 2050 conference, where young people from all around the world will come together in Yunqi, Alibaba Cloud Town, to have their moment in the spotlight in order to connect, inspire and share innovative solutions for many of the world’s most pressing issues.
We at Mingle Advisors wanted to give a contribution to this important event and make it as meaningful as possible for all the volunteers and participants.
Now, how do we intend to do this?
How about we tell you that Polar Bear Pitching, the most exciting and coldest start up pitch competition is coming to 2050, bringing with them their ice-cold pool. We are very excited to have Mia Kemppaala, the creator of Polar Bear Pitching, joining us at 2050, to help show us the true spirit of SISU and help inspire a generation of future entrepreneurs and thinkers.
Sisu has a magical meaning to the Finnish people and is a unique concept to them. It can be translated as strength of will, determination, perseverance and acting boldly in the face of adversity. This is by no means it however, in addition to Mia and Polar Bear Pitching there are several other exciting events planned.
Remember the days of dancing away in your room, singing and playing your imaginary guitar while you had your favourite song blasting away in the background?
Of course you do, and 2050 is preparing something to bring you back to this happy good old days.
Let’s just say that someone very good at Air Guitar is coming and is preparing surprises for you. We won’t spoil too much but be sure to be at the Youth Stage Show on Friday at 19.30pm and don’t miss the Finland Forum the following day.
2050 is a truly unique opportunity for the youth of the world, with all kinds of different backgrounds and languages, to get together and turn their dreams about a better world into reality.
No matter if you are there for Polar Bear Pitching, Air Guitar or one of the many other events on offer, we really hope you will be inspired to take your first steps in creating a better world for tomorrow.
This year’s 2050 will truly be one not to miss. From established leaders to young entrepreneurs from all sides of the business sector, we will have the opportunity to not only connect with other participants, but also to learn, get inspired and leave Yunqi with new perspectives and ideas.
